Came here late night after a broadway show visiting from out of town! Love the establishment, ambiance, and service here. Super impressed with calamari and mini meatball pizza! This isn't going to be the best Italian in nyc but it is worth a stop for food and wine with friends in this classic quaint joint.
Love coming here in the summer when they have ample outdoor seating! Just remember to bring cash because they are cash only. The ambiance is very laid back, and I've never felt rushed when dining here. The service is also great. I can't help but order the spaghetti limone every time I come here because it is so good! Definitely worth the hype in my opinion.
It was after midnight, not many places were open and we were on the hunt for some good Italians. This one really exceeded our expenctations. Perfect late night eats spot but of course that's not the only reason why I'm writring this review. Hearty food volume (really, go hungry especially when you need to pack some carb), very attentive service over all and very classic old style Italian vibe would make this one of the best Italian restaurants we've ever been to in New York. Oh, for those with pets, pet friendly in the bar area. I saw both dog and cat when we were there. They say cash only - however, coincidentally, when we were there, there was some kind of ATM network outage in the area of this restaurant and there was no way we were able to get any cash so they reluctantly accepted our card.
I love Lil Frankie's!!!!! I visited NYC and on my last day I really wanted a class, old school Italian spot. And oh boy did Lil Frankie's deliver. It was just what I needed before leaving Manhattan. The ambiance was classic Italian, pics on the wall, everything you would expect from an Italian spot. We came for lunch on a rainy day so the place was pretty empty but the place is huge by NYC standards so I'm sure there will usually be an open table for walk ins. We ordered the rigatoni with mini beef meatballs and it was so good!!!! The pasta was perfectly al dente. Definitely some of the best I've ever had. We then got the chicken Parmesan sandwich, also delicious. The wait staff was very nice and attentive. To note: THEY ARE CASH ONLY. I loved every bite I took at Lil Frankie's and would definitely return!!!!
My husband and I went here on our honeymoon and it was amazing. Best food ever!!! Mussels were great, pizza was to die for, and pasta blew us out of the water. Next time we're in town we will be going back! Hard that it was cash only, but worth it 100%. It is so cute and cozy on the inside. Real homey Italian momma kinda place and the servers were so friendly and ready to help in anyway they could!
Delicious food that came out really fast for being packed. Amazing wine selection and super cool atmosphere and decor. Service was on point. Perfect experience.
I will start by saying- first time I didn't look at reviews because so many people have recommended this place Came here on a Saturday afternoon, it was empty, the weather was nice so we were seated outside. I guess they had just finished cleaning their covered outdoor seating area and the smell of bleach was so unbearable that we had to be seated by the entrance of the restaurant If you go here, do not sit by that red door. People were going in and out of there every 2 minutes and it just became annoying after a while and there was also a smell (Mary Jane) that would come out from the inside For the food we waited almost an hour and change. I wish the waiter could've given us that heads up because we asked for everything to come out together. But he didn't mention this after 40 min of us waiting for the plates we ordered and then atleast got us the salad. For drinks, that came out right away. I appreciated him letting me try the orange wine before settling on it. For even for their complimentary bread, we waited 30 min after the drinks Actual food: we ordered the roasted chicken, rigatoni with mini meatballs, salad and the eggplant The chicken had an amazing sauce, the chicken itself? Not seasoned too much. So we made sure to dip it into the little sauce for each bite. The pasta was amazing! The eggplant was also good, we just had to ask for their volcanic salt to give it that extra flavor. But if you're not a fan of salt, the eggplant would've been fine by itself I appreciate their wine bottle option- pay for what you drink. Never heard of that in NY so that was cool
